Are you gonna judge me if I say a boy has encouraged me to try pop-up style? Well I’m juuuuuust a girl.
A human being and as a human being, I get inspiiiired by some of the people I meet.
Honestly, I wasn’t a huge fan of pop-up art until I tried painting it myself. Man it’s so cool! Do you wanna know? Fine I’m gonna say it anyway.
Pop-up art makes you more bold with your decisions. When you paint more realistically, you can go soft. And as a viewer, another person will not see if you’ve added a color you were not supposed to add there at all.
But when it comes to pop-up, you need to be desicive and bold. You cannot just blend the colors. Every color needs to have it’s place, and it needs to be precise.
And so, when trying painting in pop-up style, I kind of found a new hidden version of myself. A little me, that wanted to stand strong on my decisions and what I knew. A little me, that said “Here, this is me! Either you like it or not!”. A little me that realised my worth is never not for negotiating.
Funny isn’t it? How a random conversation can change into big thoughts, and discovering something new in yourself. That’s why, you just never know! You know.
