Do you know what it means in South Korea for a woman to wear off -shoulder top? It isn’t considered appropriate for many settings in that culture. Off-shoulder tops are generally not suitable for the workplace, temples, shrines, and other formal events. It is more accepted among younger people and casual events of course.
All around the world though, there are rules that come from our traditions and that we may not agree with. I’d go even further: they can suffocate us. There are times when every one of us is looking for the right way to be, and who we are. And so we do not want to be judged when we try to find ourselves.
